When packing up and storing old or antique wooden furniture, it is important to remember how fragile they can be. To prevent the wood from being scratched or scarred during the move and while in storage, wrap them in moving pads or moving blankets. Also, the use of bubble wrap will also help during the actual move process.

Our self storage units are climate controlled so you do not have to worry about humidity levels warping your wooden furniture. But, if you are not storing your furniture in a climate controlled storage unit, be aware that humidity can have an effect over a long period of time.  It is a good idea to store wooden furniture in a cool dry place.

Moving blankets are about 6 feet by 6 feet so depending on the size of your furniture, you may need more than one. Here are some examples on how to properly wrap and store furniture.
